Dermal Fillers

Want fuller lips or enhanced contours?

Dermal fillers are made of Hyaluronic Acid, a substance that naturally exists in the human body and is injected into various regions of the face and neck to restore volume, create youthful contours and enhance lips as well as reduce the appearance of wrinkles, lines and folds. Similar to its natural form, synthetic Hyaluronic Acid found in dermal fillers attracts water molecules and plumps up the skin, acting as a cushion and propping up existing facial structures that have lost volume and elasticity due to the aging process. After the procedure, your face will look natural, fresh and well-rested.

1Is it safe?
Dermal filler has been approved for cosmetic procedures and has a very low incidence of adverse effects. This treatment must be administered precisely by a trained expert. At Philosophy of Beauty, only an experienced and specially trained Registered Nurse performs the procedure.
2Is it painful?
Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from the injection. Topical anesthetics applied to the skin before the procedure can minimize the pain. Dental blocks are used for lip injections. Ice packs maybe used to help minimize the discomfort and any swelling in the injection site.
3When will I see results?
Results begin to show immediately. Follow up visit is usually scheduled for 2 weeks after procedure.
4How long do the results last?
How long the results last varies from several months to over a year. Some research shows that repeated injections may help stimulate the body's own natural production of collagen that will help reduce the number of lines and wrinkles. It has been shown that less filler is needed over time to achieve the same results. Clients may notice the results lasting longer and may only need follow up injections every 4-6 months.
5What happens if I do not continue treatments?
The effects of the fillers will wear off and the results will fade over time. The wrinkles that were treated will reappear gradually.

Biorevitalization / Mesotherapy

Mesotherapy uses tiny needles to deliver micronutrients directly into the middle layer of the skin (mesoderm). This increases hydration, reduces sagging and improves the overall appearance of the skin by promoting collagen and elastin production. The micronutrients used in this therapy are naturally found in the skin. These include nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, amino acids and hyaluronic acid. The procedure is generally considered non-painful and tolerated well. Clients describe the feeling as a mild pricking sensation.
