Electrolysis Hair Removal

Electrolysis is used to remove individual hairs from the face or body. Electrolysis is used when hair growth is present where it may not be wanted, such as facial hair on a woman. This procedure is effective for all hair colors and is required to remove blonde, red or grey hair. These hair colors cannot be removed by laser. Electrolysis uses heat energy to destroy the growth center of the hair called the bulb. A very fine probe is inserted into the hair follicle, energy is applied and then the hair is removed with tweezers. Many areas of the body can be treated with electrolysis, including the face, eyebrows, back, abdomen, breasts, thighs and legs.

Frequently Asked Questions

1Is Electrolysis safe?
There are generally no permanent side effects, but sometimes a temporary, slight reddening of the skin may occur. At Philosophy of Beauty, only an experienced and specially trained Registered Nurse performs the procedure.
2Is it painful?
Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from the procedure, sometimes described as a mild tingling sensation.
3When will I see results?
Many factors influence the growth of hair. Clients will need to return for several electrolysis treatments. The total number of required treatments needed to remove hair permanently will vary from person to person.
4How long do the results last?
Unwanted hair will be gone permanently once the series of electrolysis treatments is complete.
5What happens if I do not continue treatments?
The hair growth may be decreased; however, permanent hair removal will not be achieved.
