Eyelash Growth | Latisse®
Latisse® solution is an FDA-approved prescription medication developed by Allergan. Latisse is available by prescription at Philosophy of Beauty.Do you wish to lengthen, thicken and darken eyelashes within 4- 10 weeks? Medicated eyelash formulas affect the growth, (anagen) phase of the eyelash hair cycle, by increasing the length of the phase. This extended phase allows the hairs to stay in the follicle and continue to grow and thicken.
Anyone who wants naturally longer, fuller lashes and does not have glaucoma or other eye diseases may be a good candidate for treatment.
The active ingredient in Latisse® is bimatoprost. Bimatoprost was originally indicated for glaucoma treatment and patients noted that daily application of the eye drops was leading to longer, thicker and darker eyelashes. The active ingredient is believed to prolong the growth phase of eyelashes when applied as directed to the lashline. Patients report that their lashes thicken and darken by 8 weeks of use. From week 8-16 they report full thickness and length effects.
When Latisse is discontinued, the eyelash growth cycle resumes its pre-treatment characteristics. Eyelash growth treatment is prescribed as a once-a-day treatment applied topically to the base of the upper eyelashes with individual, disposable brushes included. It is important to not apply the solution inside the eye or to the lower lid so that the medication remains on the lash line. Any excess solution outside the upper eyelid margin should be blotted with a tissue or other absorbent material to reduce the chance of this from happening.
Eyelash growth solutions may cause temporary side effects. The most common of these are an itching sensation in the eyes and/or redness. When these occur, this can be expected to resolve within one week of beginning treatment. Some people experience an “eyeliner” effect with a slight lash line darkening. This effect typically resolves when the product use is discontinued. Vision issues, infection, prolonged redness or any ocular reactions should be brought to the attention of your physician and the treatment discontinued.
Although some results may become visible by week 4, the the solution works gradually, with full results noted around week 16. Patients are often encouraged to keep using the treatment after the first results appear and keep up maintenance applications after 16 weeks for best results.
There is no downtime after eyelash growth treatment. We recommend that you apply the product as directed at night before sleeping to minimize eye irritation. Contact lenses can be reinserted 15 minutes after the treatment.
EyEnvy™ Formula
EyEnvy™ is a formula that helps improves the length, volume and thickness of the eyelashes. It is designed to nourish hair follicles and help them reach their full growth potential. Without the use of stick on, glued on falsies, you can have beautiful, lush lashes- naturally.
When EyEnvy™ is applied to the eyelashes, it is absorbed into the skin at the root of the hair and feeds the hair follicles in the anagen growth phase. After 4 to 6 weeks, new eyelash growth is visibly longer and thicker, creating naturally healthy, dramatic lashes. The solution is applied once a day for 3 months, in a thin line directly to the eyelid skin above the eyelashes. It should be applied from the outside to inside of the eyelid.

Mild irritation at the base of the eyelashes is possible but rare with EyEnvy treatment. If irritation persists, it is recommended that you either reduce application frequency or discontinue use until the irritation resolves. It is important to use special care in following the application procedure, because often, irritation experienced is due to overuse or over application of the product. Less commonly, some users have noted a slight darkening of the skin on the eyelid where they have applied EyEnvy™ over a prolonged period of time. This generally fades with discontinuation the product.
There is no downtime with the EyEnvy™ treatment. Contact lenses can be re inserted 15 minutes after application. All forms of makeup, including mascara can also be used 1-2 minutes after the treatment.
