As we enter middle age, our skin loses elasticity, and collagen production decreases. Unfortunately, this eventually leads to sagging skin because it becomes thinner and loses elasticity. Skin cells that are damaged from sun exposure, can be permanently discoloured and will regenerate less often. Loss of skin hydration and fat volume also leads to sagging of the lower face and jowl formation. The platysmal muscle, (under the chin) which once supported a firm neck, can become stretched and prominent, (known as a turkey neck.)

The Fotona® SP Dynamis laser provides a gentle yet powerful solution for restoring elasticity and tone to the neck area. This is a non-invasive, non-ablative treatment, which reduces the appearance of sagging under the chin, neck, and décolleté and helps to prevent the formation of jowls.
Fotona® SP Dynamis is a leading-edge laser system that provide s customized, patient-specific treatments. Piano Mode is the specific setting most appropriate for creating long-term skin tightening and remodeling results in this body area. To begin the treatment, the laser is set to Piano Mode, which slowly generates heat into the subcutaneous layers of the skin in long laser pulses. This setting induces controlled thermal homogeneous bulk heating in the area to be treated. This mode utilizes the Nd:YAG laser which heats the targeted tissue by increasing temperatures on the skin’s surface to 42-45C. This bulk heating, in turn, stimulates cell response activity called photothermolysis. Using Piano Mode, photothermolysis selectively damages precise, targeted tissue cells without causing any damage to surrounding tissue. This triggers the body’s natural regenerative response and new collagen formation along with increased cellular activity is stimulated.
This means that as structural support in your neck and décolleté is improved, the skin appears firmer, and wrinkles are reduced. These effects continue to improve over the next few months following laser skin tightening treatment, as the skin’s natural stores of collagen are gradually replenished.
The number of treatments required will depend on individual needs. People who have mild to moderate skin laxity will usually require 5-6 treatments, 3-4 weeks apart, to achieve optimal results.
There is also a fast-track treatment option to accelerate results involving treatments once per week for one month. When the desired level of toning in the neck and chest area has been achieved, main tenance treatments every 6 months are recommended to prolong great results.
