What Is CoolSculpting?

CoolSculpting is a cosmetic, non-invasive procedure that utilizes cryolipolysis, a fat-freezing method, to eliminate stubborn fat cells in targeted areas of the body. It is often used when diet and exercise alone do not achieve the desired aesthetic results. During the procedure, a handheld device is used to gently suction the fatty tissue between cooling panels, which carefully freeze the fat cells without damaging the surrounding skin. The frozen fat cells are then naturally eliminated by the body over a period of four months. CoolSculpting is a safe and non-invasive treatment that does not require anesthesia or incisions and is best suited for individuals who are close to their ideal body weight and looking to target specific areas of stubborn fat.

It is important to note that CoolSculpting is not a weight-loss treatment and should not be seen as a substitute for a healthy lifestyle. Patients should consult with a qualified Philosophy of Beauty provider to determine if CoolSculpting is a suitable treatment option for them.

There are numerous advantages of choosing CoolSculpting over other treatments, including:

  • Non-invasive: Unlike surgical liposuction, CoolSculpting does not require incisions or leave behind any scars, and it is a non-surgical treatment that produces permanent and measurable results. Patients can lose a significant amount of fat, and the fat cells are permanently removed without the need for stitches or scars.
  • Minimal side effects: CoolSculpting is a safe and non-invasive procedure with minimal side effects and no downtime. Patients can resume their normal activities immediately after treatment. While some patients may experience mild bruising, tingling, or temporary numbness, there is no risk of complications associated with surgery.
  • Cost-effective: CoolSculpting is generally more affordable than surgical alternatives, although the cost of each procedure depends on various factors, such as the size and number of target areas and the number of treatment sessions required to achieve the desired results.
  • Painless: Compared to surgical procedures, CoolSculpting is completely painless. Patients usually experience a cold sensation and gentle pressure, but it is not unpleasant or uncomfortable.
  • Gradual treatment: Unlike surgery, which can be aggressive and require extensive recovery time, CoolSculpting allows your body to naturally remove the damaged fat cells over a period of up to six months after your last treatment. This gradual process leads to natural-looking results that are not immediately noticeable, so only you will know you had a fat-freezing procedure.
  • Fast results: While the full results of CoolSculpting may take several months to become apparent, patients often see visible reductions in fat areas as early as three weeks after treatment. The results continue to improve over the following weeks and peak around two months after treatment. This fast response time makes it a popular option for those looking for a quick and effective way to eliminate stubborn fat.

CoolSculpting is a body contouring treatment that helps to sculpt and refine the body’s shape by targeting stubborn fat that is resistant to diet and exercise.  While CoolSculpting can significantly reduce fat in popular target areas such as the abdomen and thighs, it does not result in significant weight loss. CoolSculpting can eliminate persistent fat in many areas of the body, including:

  • Submental (under the chin)
  • Abdomen and upper and lower chest
  • Bra rolls and back fat
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Flanks and/or love handles
  • Knees
