Microneedling

You can help your skin heal itself naturally with Microneedling. This gentle and natural treatment helps reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles while improving the general texture and tone of the skin. Skin appears softer and younger. This treatment is also known as Collagen Induction Therapy or CIT. With the use of very fine needles, this procedure makes tiny, micro-injuries to the surface of the skin. These tiny injuries stimulate the skin to produce more of your body’s own natural collagen and elastin. The increased collagen and elastin matrix in the top layer of skin causes the skin to appear softer and less wrinkled with improved overall tone. Clients that continue home treatment with the Dermaroller experience greater results.

1Is Microneedling safe?
Microneedling has been used for many years and was first used for scar therapy in burn patients. It is minimally invasive with few adverse effects. At Philosophy of Beauty, only experienced and specially trained staff perform the procedure.
2Is it painful?
Some patients report minor and temporary discomfort from the treatment. Some clients compare the feeling of Microneedling to the feeling of sandpaper being rubbed across the skin.
3When will I see results?
Results begin to show after your first treatment as an immediate “glow” to your skin. Visible changes continue to develop over several days and weeks. With continued treatment, ongoing results continue to improve up to 6 months, as the body’s collagen production continues. For best results, we recommend 6-8 treatments spaced 2 weeks apart.
4How long do the results last?
Ongoing skin care is required to maintain the skin and follow up treatments may be required after the initial series is completed. Home use of the Dermaroller will enhance results.
5What happens if I do not continue treatments?
Over time, as the new collagen is broken down, the results will dissipate.
